I don't know

Sometimes there are times when you just have to let go of a thing, you have to let it slip out of your hands, purposely. It hurts, but it is for the good. I am going to let go of one precious thing for me. I have these mixed feelings, feelings of sadness and happiness together, I am trying to live with the happy part of it, and I will be, since I think the thing will be in safe hands and in fact if I ponder and look at the sky, I realise it was never meant to be mine, I never deserved it. Sometimes I just feel its an illusion, a virtual story, a dream, which will just end suddenly and I will wake up in my bed, but as long as I am in the dream, I will just live it and I will make sure that no one dares to break my precious thing.

Mahabharat Katha

Everyone knows Mahabharata is the longest epic poem in the world, in case you didn't knew the fact, you must be knowing it before the end of this sentence, which is about just right now. When me and my colleagues from office were in Agyatvaas in Bangalore, ARS narrated a few stories from the epic. The television serial used to be broadcast when I was a kid, but that time I never understood what is going on, and why the people in the TV keep talking to each other in very weird accent. From what ARS narrated, I liked the story, there were lots of twists , turns and interconnections. As a result of which I started watching the epic on Youtube. I am on the 41st episode now. There are many lessons to be learnt from the epic. Here are a few I learnt till now and I heartly feel should be incorporated in our current society.

You are free to kidnap (Haran) any girl you like.

There is a catch in this though. You can kidnap a girl only if she wants to get kidnapped by you which totally nullifies the definition of getting kidnapped. It is the dharma of the Kshatriya
to do the Haran if he doesn't get the girl by mere talks. In one word, you are free to elope and everyone in both the families will be happy at some point of time. I seriously would like something like this right now, on account of the number of Honour killings going on our country which is shameful. Sabko Mahabharat dikhao bhai

The girl has the right to marry anyone she likes. Women is the power, the source of whatever exists in nature.

Now this is a valid point and everyone will agree. Now the point I don't understand here when someone says "Her father will not allow her to marry the guy she likes, her family is orthodox". In this context I dont understand whether the father mentioned here is older than the Mahabharata. Seriously, I don't get the meaning of orthodox. If our forefathers allowed women to have powers(Not super powers, giving super powers to Women would be quite dangerous :D ) then why cant we.

You can create multiple arrows out of a single one.

I can't comment on this point currently, I still have to solve the mystery behind it. :|
